Tenor Edgaras Montvidas is one of the most prominent names in Lithuanian opera, having earned the enduring love and respect of audiences through his talent and impressive body of work. "Now, when everything is so fleeting and fragile, when new stars flash and immediately fade, that consistency and continuous climb up the mountain is a true value," Montvidas says of his career path.
The soloist champions Lithuania's name worldwide. Throughout his career, he has created more than 40 roles, performing at the English National Opera, London's Royal Opera House "Covent Garden", Dutch National Opera, and the major opera houses of Geneva, Frankfurt, Lyon, Paris, Brussels, Strasbourg, Cincinnati, Santa Fe, among others. The singer actively performs with the most renowned symphony orchestras of Europe, the USA, and Japan in such prestigious venues as Vienna's Musikverein, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, and the Berlin Philharmonic. In 2020, Montvidas became the artistic director of the Pažaislis Music Festival. The soloist has been honored with the Medal of the Order "For Merits to Lithuania", the Ministry of Culture's badge of honor "Bring Your Light and Believe", and in 2023, he was awarded the Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Arts.
