Where is this familiar tune and exciting buzz coming from? The circus has arrived at Vilnius Congress Hall! The jugglers are bringing in their colourful balls for a tune-up, acrobats are practising stunts on a tightrope, clowns are adjusting their big red noses. And... over there! Can you see? The magician furtively pulls cards out of his sleeve and with a mischievous smile on his face winks an eye at a rabbit, quietly crouching in his hat. The musicians start tuning up. The show will soon begin! Would you like to be a part of this colourful event where magical circus performances are accompanied by live symphony orchestra? Then hurry up, the circus is here, waiting for you!

The history of the Amber Circus began in 1970 when a folk circus troupe was formed in Alytus. Some of the company members went on to become professional circus artists; extensive many years' travelling all over Europe has turned them into true masters of their craft. Therefore, in 2013 the troupe invited the artists to come back and form a professional circus company, named Amber Circus. At present this travelling circus company gives shows in Lithuania and abroad whereas its members enjoy traineeships and contracts with major European circus companies.

This afternoon the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra will appear under the baton of Ričardas Šumila. A student of maestro Gintaras Rinkevičius, Šumila pursued post-graduate studies in Vienna. At the same time he was invited to work with the Vilnius City Opera (formerly 'the Bohemians') and its artistic director Dalia Ibelhauptaitė – a cooperation he enjoys to this day. In 2014, Ričardas Šumila received the Golden Stage Cross for Young Artist Award.
