On New Year's Eve, open the magic door and set on a great adventure to the magnificent world of musicals. The Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra presents its special project – a true jewel in the crown of Holiday Season's events! The Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra led by maestro Gintaras Rinkevičius presents the greatest arias from the most popular musicals of all times, The Phantom of the Opera, Notre-Dame de Paris, Les Misérables, Moulin Rouge!, Cats, to name just a few.
For this remarkable musical gala, the orchestra joins four talented soloists. The owner of an amazing voice, Monika Marija Paulauskaitė, won the Lithuanian Voice talent show and made for the national finals of the Eurovision Song Contest this year. She has also won over thousands of hearts with her powerful performance, emotional depth and the ability to build a warm connection with her listeners, for which she is compared to the famous British singer Adele. Her partner on the stage of the Vilnius Congress Concert Hall tonight will be Evelina Sašenko, famed for her alluring charm and velvety voice. Sašenko has completed a vocal jazz programme at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and has participated in various contests, festivals and popular projects including Love Stories According to Edith Piaf, Chopin Jazz Inn and All That Cabaret.
The two singers will appear with the charismatic rockers, Povilas Meškėla and Jeronimas Milius. The former leader of the country's legendary rock bands, Katedra and Rojaus Tūzai, Povilas Meškėla has also performed main roles in an array of Lithuanian performances of musicals including Love and Death in Verona, The Devil's Bride and Notre-Dame de Paris. Jeronimas Milius, who has recently focused on his solo career, ranks among the brightest performers of musical theatre in Lithuania. The singer has given hugely successful performances of the main role in Laimis Vilkončius' rock opera Eglė, immensely popular musicals The Legend of Zygmunt Augustus and Barbora Radvilaitė, The Count of Monte Cristo, Carmen and many others.
