On New Year's Eve, open the magic door and set on a great adventure to the magnificent world of musicals. The Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra presents its special project – a true jewel in the crown of Holiday Season's events! Four famous Lithuanian singers will join the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Gintaras Rinkevičius, the orchestra's artistic director and principal conductor, at a concert of the greatest arias from the most popular musicals of all times.

The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Notre-Dame de Paris: these musicals are admired all over the world and their tunes tell us familiar stories. Who wouldn't like to explore backstage with the mysterious Phantom of the Opera, fatally in love with the beautiful Christine, or to indulge in memories with the charming Cats? Who wouldn't like to experience love for the gorgeous Esmeralda together with Quasimodo or to go back to the times of Jesus' trial in a rock opera style?

Tonight we offer you highlights from musicals which have garnered tremendous success all over the world. Andrew Lloyd Weber's Phantom of the Opera and Cats have both scored the world record as the longest-running shows in the history of Broadway musical with a total 10,000 performances each. Riccardo Cocciante's Notre-Dame de Paris had the most successful first year of musical ever, according to the Guinness Book of Records. Jesus Christ Superstar by Weber is just as famous: before its Broadway premiere, it was released as a rock opera concept album and topped the US charts that same year. And tonight Broadway for sure moves to Vilnius Congress Hall. Come and join us!
