This autumn the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by the artistic director and chief conductor Gintaras Rinkevičius, will invite the inhabitants of various Lithuanian regions to hear its playing. This time the stops of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra's concert tour around Lithuania are Marijampolė, Panevėžys and Jonava. Here, the orchestra together with beloved opera soloists Ona Kolobovaitė and Liudas Mikalauskas, will perform masterpieces of the world's opera treasury – the most beautiful arias and duets written by Gioachino Rossini, Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Gaetano Donizetti, Charles Gounod, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonín Dvořák.
Ona Kolobovaitė is a charming and talented opera soloist, who in 2010 graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre where she studied with prof. Sigutė Stonytė. Back in 2009 O. Kolobovaitė won the Golden Voice competition "The Arch of Triumph", later created roles at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, in Giedrius Kuprevičius' musical "Fire Hunt with Beaters" and elsewhere. Her colleague on stage Liudas Mikalauskas is one of the most famous Lithuanian basses of the young generation, who has gained great public love with his exceptional timbre and artistry. In 2011 L. Mikalauskas graduated from the Kaunas Faculty of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and the Academy of Music of Vytautas Magnus University. The singer has won 12 Grand Prix and 1st places in various international singing competitions. In 2006 he was awarded the prize of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania "For the Best Debut in Professional Art". In 2007 L. Mikalauskas pursued an internship in the UK, at the Royal College of Music and Drama in Wales. Since 2016 L. Mikalauskas has been a soloist with the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, and has by now prepared 15 different roles in various performances. He also sings at the Kaunas Musical Theatre and is a guest soloist with other Lithuanian musical theatres.
The Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by one of the most prominent Lithuanian artists, the National Prize winner, professor Gintaras Rinkevičius. Maestro G. Rinkevičius has been the artistic director and chief conductor of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra for more than thirty years. Since 2017 he has also been leading the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra.
