Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, led by its artistic director and chief conductor Gintaras Rinkevičius, arrives in Birštonas. Together with the soloists, one of the most famous Lithuanian baritones Vytautas Juozapaitis and soprano Ieva Juozapaitytė, the orchestra shall invite you to the Birštonas Cultural Centre, where they will present a special program of opera arias that have already turned into classical masterpieces.
Vytautas Juozapaitis is one of the most prominent Lithuanian baritones, professor with the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. Having completed vocal studies at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, in the class of prof. Vladimiras Prudnikovas, the soloist soon established himself as one of the most important Lithuanian opera singers and vocal pedagogues. In 1993 V. Juozapaitis received a diploma at the international Luciano Pavarotti singing competition, during which the main jury member was L. Pavarotti himself. The soloist's repertoire includes more than 40 roles, such as Don Giovanni (W. A. Mozart's "Don Giovanni"), Rigoletto (G. Verdi's "Rigoletto"), Figaro (G. Rossini's "Il barbiere di Siviglia"), Onegin (P. Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin"), Escamillo (G. Bizet's "Carmen") and others. The repertoire of V. Juozapaitis is also significantly supplemented by the whole range of baritone parts in oratorios. As a theatre artist and singer, V. Juozapaitis has received almost all possible Lithuanian awards. In 2003 he was bestowed the Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Art.
Opera soloist of the young generation, soprano Ieva Juozapaitytė completed her master's studies at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2018, in the class of prof. Vladimiras Prudnikovas. In 2017-2018 she studied singing at the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki (Finland). Since 2012 the soloist has been working at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. I. Juozapaitytė constantly improves her professional skills during various masterclasses in Lithuania and abroad.
Tonight, the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by its founder, artistic director and chief conductor, laureate of the National Prize, maestro Gintaras Rinkevičius.
