The closing evening of the Festival of Baltic Symphony Orchestras shall introduce the famous couple of musicians – pianists Anna Geniušienė and Lukas Geniušas. On the stage of the Congress Palace in Vilnius they will collaborate with Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra conducted by Gintaras Rinkevičius to perform three piano works – two concertos for solo piano and a concerto for two pianos.

The talented young pianist Anna Geniušienė graduated with distinction from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. In 2017 she received a grant from the Royal Academy of Music in London and is currently continuing her Masters studies there. The pianist is a laureate of many competitions; one of her latest achievements is a Bronze Medal at the prestigious International Ferruccio Busoni Competition in Italy (2017).

Born into a family of famous musicians, L. Geniušas is successfully following in the glorious footsteps of his relatives. The Silver Medal that he won at the International P. Tchaikovsky Competition in 2015 has opened the doors into the most famous and important stages all over the world. Geniušas’ performances span from those in Paris and Tokyo, to Montevideo and Toronto – at the age of just 27, the pianist is now giving over 70 concerts per year. “Brilliance and maturity, prizewinner’s talent and profound interpretation”, – this is how the influential “The Guardian” of United Kingdom summarized young pianist’s performance in 2016. Geniušas has already appeared with famous symphony orchestras of Hamburg, Duisburg, BBC Scotland, Saint Petersburg philharmonic, “Kremerata Baltica”, Mariinsky Theatre’s orchestra and many others. Geniušas spellbinds the audiences with his impressive virtuosity, style, intellectual eloquence and perfect balance between temperament, emotions and logic.
