Conductor and the course leader: MICHAIL JUROWSKI
It is impossible to overrate the significance of the musicians of the young generation to history of music. Gifted and talented musicians, who have what to say to the world, grow into the leading performers. The Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra and the Philharmonisches Kammerorchester Berlin are organizing international conducting master courses for the third time at the Vilnius Congress Concert Hall. The Berlin Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra has held over fifty conducting master courses with international partners across the world. The renowned masters of the baton have lead the course: Jorma Panula (Finland), Leif Segerstam (Finland), Vladimir Ponkin (Russia), Genady Rozhdestvensky (Russia), Eri Klas (Estonia) and others. Michail Jurowski, the 2006–2008 chief conductor of Germany’s WDR radio symphony orchestra, a three-time Grammy winner (for CDs of N. Rimsky-Korsakov music), will head the course in Vilnius. About twenty young conductors from all over the world will conduct at the festive concert. The audience will be able to discover new talented performers.
